BISO 3D – PERFECT IN DETAILS (PART 2)

The concept is fantastic. But what about the details? Look at the second part of the photo package focusing mainly on the details of this new header. In this part 2, we will look at the tablet, dividers, the air system, hydraulic tanks, combine connection points and the “trailer mode”.

In the central area above the feeder house, there is a big logo of BISO, just behind the central console of the auger which has a drive from both sides on the VF1070.

The integrated side knives with a hydraulic drive. You can switch on the side knife and use the divider. The BISO drivers are using the side knives not only in rapeseed.

The driver has a perfect view in the header. It is very comfortable to move the vario at 60-70% and see “what is going on” much better. The typical new feature on 3D VarioFlex is that you can go very close to the auger (for small crops). The minimum distance of the knife from the auger is only 180mm. And this is for the header with the FLEX module and active suspension.

The photo of the tablet screen in the moment, when the header is in the FLEX mode. You can see on the bar in the bottom area that the right side of the FLEX module is active at the moment.

Again, the FLEX mode and two pressure sensors are activating the arms of FLEX parallelograms.

The header is running in automatic mode. The driver can choose from 100%FLEX, 50%FLEX and RIGID(0%FLEX) modes. In 100% FLEX mode the driver must calculate with 100% risk, thanks to the ability of the FLEX module to copy the whole contour of the ground.

The screen is showing the rigid mode (0% FLEX). The header is working as a standard vario header. During all modes, the driver can adjust the vario table without any limit. On the right side of the screen, you can see the symbols (buttons) for header angel adjustment, reel fingers angel adjustment, switch on/off of side knives and movement of the vario table front/rear. Plus, below is the symbol for header working lights.

The driver of the combine has more driving strategies available. A non-experienced driver can start with a standard setup, but professional drivers are able to get the best performance and quality of harvest from the header and combine.

The dividers are fully adjustable and it is very easy to remove them and put them back on the trailer. On this unit, we have top spec dividers universal for all crops. Many BISO drivers use smaller and simpler ones, typical for Ultralight headers.

On the divider, you can adjust the position of the wings if you are harvesting difficult crops with a lot of weed and green material. If the material is caught behind the divider, you can simply switch ON  the side knife for a few seconds.

The adjustment is very easy and quick.

And the adjustment system again.

In this picture you can see very well the shape of the sidewall, the divider set up and the position of the side knives.

The monitor screen of the 2020 models. We made it simple. On the right side, there is a similar control box to that on the typical BISO CropRanger and on the header, you can see the important parameters. If the FLEX module is OFF, the key information is positioned of the reel.

On the left side of the header´s back frame, the most of the important systems and components are located. The driver can perfectly see it from the cab.

Above the cardan shaft, the suction air filter, moisture air filter and two air tanks are located. In front In front of it, you can see the “energetic chain” which integrates all hydraulic houses coming from the header floor.

If the vario table is fully retracted, you can see it in this lower area. Pictured from the front.

The side covers are completely new on the 3D VarioFLEX.

Under the rear cover the air compressor, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic valves and other important things are located.

In this picture, you can see the rear side of the splash guard, which is a standard feature on this header. The tanks and electric boxes are integrated in the splash guard body.

The left one is the tank for the auger chain oil grease. It is an automatic system. In the middle is the tank for the hydraulic oil. And the right tank is for the clean water for the driver to wash his hands. The access is very good when the header is on the combine or during the transport when the header is on the trailer.

It’s very easy to check the level of all fluids before you climb into the cab.

Water tank in detail. All tanks have a fluid level indicator with a temperature gauge.

Four big boxes with doors are for the electric system (the left two) and for spare parts and tools (the right two).

The cyclone suction filter (first stage) is very easy to clean during driver change.

The air compressor filter. It is a standard paper air suction filter.

On the left air accumulator we have an air pressure manometer. The compressor is driven by the header drive. It takes some time after the first switch on the header to increase the system´s pressure to the working level. Thanks to high quality components, the system doesn´t lose the pressure even during the night.

Below the manometer, there is a high-pressure connector for air house for quick cleaning after the job is finished. The house and pistol are part of the specification.

From the VF9.1 and bigger models, we have a drive on both sides, so the cardan shaft is on both sides.

And in this case a small oil tank for the auger chain automatic greasing is situated on the right side.

The reel is from one piece. On the right side, we have an energetic plastic chain for hydraulic lines arrangement.

Hydraulic lines on the rear right header back.

The rear “flap” in vario table is the new feature on the 3D VarioFlex. It makes the header connection to the combine easier and less risky of damage.

The “flap” in detail.

Above the “flat” a locking pin for the combine feeder house is located. The frame of the 3D VarioFLEX is the same for all combine brands. Only the connecting parts are different. So it will be much easier to update the header on different combine brands.

The flap in upper position (working).  It´s fully automatic.

The flap in lower position.

The header in parking mode. The vario is moved automatically to 150mm (not completely back) and the copy shoes are lifted up and locked. The same FLEX module. The red plates are from HARDOX.

The header is delivered with a full set of auger wings and auger counter blades. In this picture the wings are still fitted on the auger. It is possible to remove the two elements from each side. It’s good if you want to manage a small volume of material (dry areas) in the middle of the feeder house. In our territory, we automatically remove one pair of wings elements and a minimum two pairs of counter blades.  All these parts are stainless.

Typical CNH connection points. On the left side the driver has to lock the feeder house and connect the cardan shaft, the multi quick coupler (5 houses including the hydraulic reel drive), the CNH electric socket and the special small BISO power supply from the combine batteries.

In this area, you can see the special rivets of the hybrid frame. Just here is the area of the central steel frame connected to the aluminum sandwich.

The standard CNH electrical socket.

And all in position.

The header hooked on the combine feeder house.

Lower locking pins.

This area is different for every combine brand.

New locking system on the trailer.

And again, the NH CR9090 SmartTrax with the BISO VarioFLEX 1070 AIR i.
